Why Should I Hire An Attorney For My Accident Case?

Updated: Feb 12, 2023

Why should I hire an attorney for my accident case is a question that gets asked to us all of the time. The short answer is that hopefully we can do a better job and resolving your injury case then you can. The analogy I get people is that if they think they can step in and do my job as well as I can with over 20 years of experience please feel free to handle your own injury case. I don’t think that they would expect I can do their job as well as they can with no experience more training. This analogy, though it appears harsh, resonates the bottom-line truth - that we should be able to get a better result for your injury or accident case then you can on your own.

The reality is much more complex yet simpler all at the same time. When it comes to resolving injury cases, their series of rules that need to be followed. Whether it’s the time frame for bringing your claim, what sources of coverage are available to you, who gets reimbursed, what amount needs to be re-reimbursed, and what paperwork needs to be signed so you don’t accidentally give away your rights are all things to be considered. This is in addition to your needing to focus on getting better instead of dealing with the insurance company constantly contacting you to try and resolve your case as cheaply as possible.

What our goal is to maximize your recovery while minimizing your stress. This allows you to focus on getting better and taking care of your family. It also allows you to not have to worry about whether or not the insurance company is pulling a fast one on you.

Our understanding is also that statistically when people are injured in an accident and they are represented by an attorney they tend to do better than if they represent themselves. This would seem to make sense considering that we know the rules of how the case is supposed to operate after having been trained and experienced and handling these cases.

So the short answer is - yes you should hire an attorney. Whether it is to try to get a better settlement for you or merely to reduce the inconvenience. At least, if nothing else, have a consultation with an attorney to determine what he or she can do for you.
